God's word is like a lamp guiding us all our lives. Now it's solely up to us to allow God's word to guide our steps. Just as how taking a torch on a night trail is not going to be of any use unless you switch on the torch, owning a Bible is not enough. You need to delve into it's verses and tap the spiritual food and guidance for life available in it.
We all have our times in the valley, when living each day becomes either scary, dull or wearisome. During such times we need to meditate on God's word. Read and hold the different inspirational Bible quotes close to your heart. They will not only prevent you from sinking into depression, but will also fill your heart with an unexplainable peace.

The Bible is full of such encouraging verses, which are placed by God to let us know how much He loves us and how He will never let us drown! It's up to us to have faith in Jesus Christ and take God for His Word.
If you have never devoted any time reading the Bible, but are willing to now, then my suggestion would be to read the book of Psalms. It's a book easy to comprehend and is a perfect reflection of what kind of communion God seeks with man. God bless you!
