Quite simple isn't it? Anyone can understand what God hates, and many times it is so easy to identify these sins in other people's lives, but when it comes to our own, we seem somewhat better.

How can we hate pride when it is overwhelming? Look at politics, also in all economic systems that invite you to step further and further on the social hierarchy, the competition for more and higher in every field simply gets a hold of us without hesitation or previous notice. How can we keep our hearts humble within this competitive world around us?

Of course you want performance, and there is nothing wrong with that, but how can you keep a humble heart in the middle of it all?

"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." ― Proverbs 16:18

"If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if your heart is full of pride, you only will have the pain of it." ― Proverbs 9:12 "When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom." ― Proverbs 11:2 "Pride only breeds quarrels, but with ones who take advice is wisdom." ― Proverbs 13:10

We might not see it but the next step that comes after pride is a huge fall or destruction. Watch your own heart, and keep it within the right boundaries.
