Bible Quotes About Trust

Claudia Miclaus
A baby might not know much, but he knows one important lesson, that is to trust. We as adults have forgotten this lesson. So God has to teach us time and time again, the same lesson we once knew so well.
I have a 10-month-old nephew. He is a lovely baby but he doesn't have any clue about the dangers of this world. He is happy in his little universe, stretching his tiny hands whenever he wants something.
Seeing and loving his innocence I tell him every now and then, "Oh, you just don't know anything, do you?" After saying it a few times it occurred to me that in spite of his lack of knowledge about this world, he knows the most important life lesson, a lesson that I have to admit I often have a problem with: Trust.
Yes, little Daniel knows to trust. He has no problem in that, he knows that you arms mean safety. As long as you are around, he is safe, and anytime something unexpected happens, he knows where to run for safety. He knows that your arms provide that and he trusts you.
However, growing up, we all encounter people who disappoint us, and our trust is affected. Babies trust their parents, but we as adults, we have God as our Father and trusting Him is the lesson we must learn.
Look at Abraham; he was a man of God and a friend of God. They became so close that they were talking like friends. One day God promised Abraham that his children will be as many as the sand on the shore. Yet after his son was born, God asked Abraham to sacrifice him.
I wonder what was in Abraham's heart those moments. Is God contradicting Himself? Has He changed planes?
I can't really put myself in Abraham's shoes, but I have seen so far that God respects His words and His promises. He did fulfill what He promised in my life even if I had to wait, even if at times the situations seemed hopeless. He did give me the victory He had promised. And there are other promises I am looking forward to.
God is so good! His possibilities are countless, but one thing is certain: He will never let you down. He could have not asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, yet God wanted to test Abraham's trust in Him. God did not allow the sacrifice to happen, and intervened. Abraham successfully passed the test. Admirable!
You might go through a test too which are normal for God's people as Jesus Himself suffered and trusted God. Those who mocked Him said, "He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if He wants him; for He said,' I am the Son of God.'" (Matthew 27:43).
They had no clue that 2000 years later Jesus would be well-known all over the world and "in His name shall the Gentiles trust." Matthew 12:21
There are other promises that God might have made to you and now you are waiting for their fulfillment. Yes, wait on God's promises. Do not compromise trying to find a better way out of yourself. If God made a promise, you will see its realization and He will give you all the resources you need in order to be straightened in the waiting process.
The following Bible quotes are an encouragement from those who have already successfully passed the test. Be encouraged to press on, hang in there, and God will pull you through!
"May God, the giver of hope, fill you with continual joy and peace because you trust in Him - so that you may have abundant hope through the power of the Holy Spirit."
- Romans 15:13

"...so that your trust might rest not on the wisdom of man but on the power of God."

- Samuel 22:31
"They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated of them, because they put their trust in Him."
- Chronicles 5:20
"But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee."
- Psalms 5:11

"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust the name of Yahweh our God."

"Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted, and you delivered them."
